Service overview

SABER is the electronic platform used under the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) product and shipment conformity framework. Regulated products generally complete a Product Certificate of Conformity process based on the applicable technical regulation and product classification before a Shipment Certificate of Conformity is requested for a specific import shipment. Treatment of non-regulated products must be checked against current platform and customs requirements. SCS Testing supports technical-regulation screening, test and product documentation, coordination with the conformity-assessment body and application-data review, while certificate issuance and import acceptance remain subject to the authority, platform and assessment-body rules.

## Reports, certificates or registration outcomes Depending on the route, outputs may include test-evidence review records, a SABER Product Certificate of Conformity and a Shipment Certificate of Conformity for a specific consignment. The product and shipment certificates serve different purposes and do not provide unconditional coverage for later models, shipments or import procedures.

Factors affecting timing

Timing depends on product classification, the applicable technical regulations, test-report status, prerequisite certificates, assessment-body review, importer cooperation and completeness of shipment records. Product and shipment stages are assessed separately and cannot be fixed before the evidence is reviewed.
